Only in LA
From a Yelp review of La Cabana:
"Parking here was pretty bad though, as our group parked on street parking about a block or so away."
We shit you not: someone actually thought having to park A BLOCK AWAY counted as "pretty bad". That said, here's an interesting question: is La Cabana the only place on Rose with valet parking? (Related question: who in their right mind would actually take advantage of their valet parking, when there is SO MUCH street parking nearby.) Either way, we hereby propose that valet parking be banned from Rose Ave. That would set us apart. This year's slogan for the Rose Ave. Chamber of Commerce: "We don't need your stinking valet."

Nobody Walks in LA
If this were Fox News, we would say, "People are talking about making Rose Ave. pedestrian-access only." The reality is that WE'RE talking about it, though so far it's only with ourselves, and it's pretty hard to imagine it would happen. But, more interestingly: would it even be a good thing if it did happen? Discuss!
Possible Clothing Themes
What should the clothing theme be for the next Rose Ave. Pub Crawl? Here are some ideas:
B-Boy Traditional
Country Club
Florida Retiree
Hot Dog Vendor
Any of those sound good? Other ideas?

Rose Ave.: The New Abbot Kinney?
Just a few years ago, calling Rose Ave. "the next Abbot Kinney" sounded more like fantstical (if not apocalyptical) thinking than any kind of plausible prediction. Oh, how things have changed. Are we already there? Discuss.
Robin Rose Ice Cream: 215 Rose Ave.
A few years ago, while in Northampton, Massachusetts for a philosophy of art conference, we went to Herrell's Ice Cream, a regional favorite. There was a faded, framed clipping of a USA Today article from the 80's, listing the best ice cream places across the country. Herrell's itself was there, of course, but there was also a place on Rose Ave. that we had never heard of, Robin Rose Ice Cream. It's now closed, sadly, but while it was still around it managed to earn a mention in Rick Sebak's documentary about ice cream places. (Note: if you don't know about Sebak's documentary about hot dog stands, you don't know about America!)
Anyone remember Robin Rose Ice Cream? Anyone have photos of it?
