First Rose Ave. Pub Crawl

It's official: the first Rose Ave. pub crawl was a tremendous success. Thirteen people came and good times were had all around. We ate and drank at four places: Venice Ale House, The Firehouse, Oscar's, and La Cabana.

Tonight's the Night!

The next Rose Ave. Pub Crawl is tonight, August 4th, 2011!

It will begin at 7pm at the Venice Ale House, at Rose Ave. and the beach.

After a drink at the Venice Ale House, we'll head east on Rose, eventually ending up at Casablanca, at Rose and Lincoln. You can keep track of our progress on our Twitter feed, which we'll be updating as we stumble along.

P.S., we've just uploaded some new photos to our Tumblr account.

Dinner!

After much deliberation, the Executive Committee has come to the conclusion that CASABLANCA is where it's at, dinner-wise. So come to the Pub Stagger ready to eat some homemade tortillas!

After Party?

We should rent a room at the Rose Ave. Motel for a party after the pub stumble this Thursday.

Reminder: Rolling on Rose is THIS THURSDAY

This is just a friendly reminder that the next Rose Ave. Pub Crawl will be this Thursday, August 4th. It will begin at Venice Ale House at 7pm and proceed inland from there.

Here's our newest theme song.

Books About LA Traffic

Just last week, we discovered a wonderful used bookstore off of Sawtelle, Sideshow Rare Books. We scored two amazing finds:

L.A. Shortcuts

Subways are for Sleeping

This has just made us think: what other books are there about LA traffic? In general, it seems like the traffic here is something that's always there in the background--even if one isn't consciously thinking about it--structuring all aspects of one's life.

Where to eat?

This is the question: where will we eat on the night of the pub stroll? Sadly, Rose Ave.'s famous taco truck will not be there, as they take off on Thursdays. Casablanca is an obvious possibility, but reviews are mixed and we have not, as yet, eaten there ourselves. Suggestions?
